Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is the number one repetitive stress injury in America today!  It is characterized by painful inflammation and swelling of tendons in the wrist that pass through the carpal tunnel.  Because of this, the nerve that shares the carpal tunnel becomes pinched and results in tingling, pain and numbness in the base of the thumb and first three fingers.

Present treatment for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or CTS typically consists of :

  • anti-inflammatory drugs,
  • rehabilitation through physical therapy
  • surgical release of the flexor retinaculum in the most severe cases

All of which have met with limited success in restoring function, relieving pain and returning a person to their normal lifes' activities.

  • Rosenthal Chiropractic Clinic uses low level laser therapy (cold laser) to treat Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or CTS.
  • The low level laser (cold laser) is a non-thermal laser capable of penetrating deep ( about 2 ") into tissue.
  • Once delivered, the light energy promotes the process of photo-bio-stimulation.
  • In human tissue, the resulting photochemical reaction produces an increase in cellular metabolism rate, which expedites cell repair and the stimulation of the immune, lymphatic and vascular systems.
  • The result is reduction in pain, inflammation, edema, and an overall reduction of healing time.

AND THERE'S MORE!

The laser is also used for the treatment of joint injuries, tendonitis and tennis elbow, hip pain, leg pain, sports injuries, shoulder and neck pain, arthritis, TMJ syndrome, and neuralgia.
